The difference between land survey and quantity survey

 

Land survey and quantity survey are like a chain for each other because both works on measurements.

Land survey. 

Land survey is the measurement to apply physically in the field.

The person who take measurements from drawing  and apply measurements in the field  is called land surveyor 

Land surveyor work in the field using machine like auto level, total station, and GPS

The total station is used for

manualy

Quantity survey.

Quantity survey is to find materials and cost from the measurements.

The person who take measurements from drawing or from land surveyor  to find quantity and cost is called Quantity surveyor 

Quantity surveyor work in the office using software like MS exel  AND  autocade of computer.
